
Nineteen truck loads of steel and metal sheeting were delivered to the site. Some of the steel columns weigh 6,000 lbs. The clear span interior stretches 200 feet across. The parking lot was filled with the metal building during the shaking out of the building. Each corner of The Gathering Place had a Bible poured into the foundation. The bibles have signature of the congregation, missionaries, elders, pastor, and staff. JDC Associates, Inc. a family business, even the smallest member has his part in getting the job completed. The north end of the building will have a brick front that is almost an exact match of the original brick on the church. The other three sides of the building are a split faced concrete block. A red accent block was built at each column location. The double cranes and a forklift for the center section require a lot of coordination and experience. The Gathering Place offers indoor soccer fields, double basketball courts, racquetball, track, game room, banquet facilities, classrooms, offices and daycare.
Uniquely designed windows combined with the arced drive thru add to the curb appeal of the multi-purpose sports center. Limestone tablets with scriptures adorn the front of the facility.
